About the Law Office of Dahlia Castillo, PLLC
Attorney Dahlia Castillo is the founder of the Law Office of Dahlia Castillo. Our mission as a law firm is to help immigrant families stay together and help our clients obtain legal status without having to leave the United States.
Attorney Castillo was born in Jamaica and raised in Brooklyn, New York, by a single mother. Her own history as an immigrant in the United States led her to dedicate her law practice to helping others like her. Dahlia knows first-hand how the immigration system works. She also knows the advantages and peace of mind that having legal status confers to immigrants. Dahlio also learned from her own family’s experience about the great sacrifices that so many immigrant mothers make in leaving their home country to give their children a chance at a better life.
Having been through the immigration process herself, she understands how demanding and overwhelming it can be. This personal experience, added to her legal and technical knowledge as a professional of the law, allows her to help her clients navigate the complex immigration system smoothly.
Her commitment to her clients and drive to provide the best possible service to the immigrant community motivated her to learn Spanish. To be able to connect directly with her clients without interpreters, Dahlia added to her language studies an intensive Spanish course in the Mexican city of Puebla. Although not considered fully bilingual yet, she can understand, speak, read and write fluently.
In addition, her experience as a spouse of a military officer for the past 16 years has given her an insider’s perspective on immigration issues unique to the United States military.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her family and spending time with her husband and children. Her favorite hobbies are gardening and listening to music.
