The Law Office of Dahlia Castillo works extensively with the local immigrant community; therefore being fluent in both English and Spanish is a must for all potential candidates.

We are currently hiring for the following positions:
Intake Specialist (Remote; Part Time)
The Law Office of Dahlia Castillo is a busy solo law practice in Fayetteville North Carolina. Our office represents immigrants in all 50 states on immigration cases and Family law and Traffic/DWI cases in North Carolina. We are seeking an Intake Clerk to ensure a high level of customer service during the new client onboarding process. Up to 30 hours/week.
Duties:
• Answer incoming phone calls and return phone calls in English and Spanish
• Schedule appointments and call/contact people to confirm their appointments
• Communicate with clients via phone, MyCase, and chat
• Add important events to attorney calendar
• Maintain the office calendar
• Take payments over the phone
• Document phone calls from clients and prospective clients in the telephone log and in MyCase
• Draft letters to clients in English and Spanish
• Translate client documents
• Review consultation intake forms and notes to ensure that appointments are scheduled to ensure they are completely properly by the prospective clients.
• Prepare responses to client feedback after consultations
• Coordinate post-consultation follow-ups to clients
• Prepare and submit document checklists to new clients
• Provide phone support to the administrative team
Education:
• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent experience in a legal setting
Qualifications:
• Fluent in Spanish (read, write, and speak)
• Excellent phone etiquette
• Friendly and professional
• Able to work independently
• Able to deal with good people on their worst days (the nature of family law).
• Experience with dealing with emotional phone calls/de-escalating situations
• Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality/ethical standards
• Able to document details of contact with clients, opposing counsel and court personnel
• Able to multi-task efficiently
• Self-motivated Willing to learn
• Able to follow directions
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Reliable strong high-speed broadband internet connection
• A quiet environment for answering calls, plus a headset with a microphone arm attached
Technical Requirements:
• Familiar with computers in general
• MS Office 365 Suite (primarily Word and Excel)
• Able to create templates in Word and AdobePro
• Strong Office Machine skills (copier, scan machine)
• Online research skills (ability to find correct address, country condition information, etc)
• Type Speed of 40-50 wpm
Pay:
• $12-$14 per hour based on experience, quarterly Bonus and Flexibility. (Please note $12 to start during the 3-month probationary period, which may increase after the probationary period)

Legal Assistant position (Fayetteville or Fuquay-Varina Office)
We are hiring a legal assistant to ensure a high level of customer service. Up to 30 hours per week to start, but we may offer full-time to the right person.
Our office handles immigration, family and traffic/DWI cases In Wake, Cumberland, Harnett, and Hoke counties. We are a big believer in work/family life balance, so work hours will be 8:30am -5pm (unless there is some deadline).
Candidates are also expected to be able to think on their feet. The landscape of our industry changes daily, and we need someone who can adapt and learn on the spot.
Duties
• Answer incoming phone calls and return phone calls in English and Spanish
• Schedule appointments and call/contact people to confirm their appointments
• Add important events to attorney calendar
• Maintain the office calendar
• Calendaring for District/Superior Court appearances
• Correspond with Immigration agencies, immigration courts, DA’s Office, Judge’s Office, pre-trial services, Clerks Office, law enforcement, private investigators, etc. as needed
• Draft pleading, motion, forms, cover letters, and client declarations accurately with minimal supervision for attorney review.
• Maintain communication with clients and provide case updates promptly
• Manage attorney schedule efficiently (attorney-client meetings, court appearances, etc.)
• Interviewing clients, witnesses, victims, etc.
• Miscellaneous courthouse errands
• Prepare documents for mailing
• Document phone calls from clients in MyCase
• Draft letters to clients in English and Spanish
• Translate client documents
• Occasional jail visits
• Translates client documents and for clients at immigration interviews
• Process cases for trial preparation including legal documents, data entry, and correspondence.
• Complete a daily court calendar, obtain jury panels, and issue discovery to defense attorneys.
Education
• Associate Degree or Equivalent experience in a legal setting
Qualifications
• Fluent in Spanish (read, write, and speak)
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Covid vaccinated with booster
Technical Requirements:

$15-$18 per hour based on experience. (Please note $15 to start during the 3-month probationary period, which may increase after the probationary period)

Receptionist/Secretary position (Fayetteville Office)
We are hiring a Receptionist/Secretary to ensure a high level of customer service. Up to 30 hours per week to start, but we may offer full-time to the right person.

• After a consultation has started, help by making photocopies of documents for the attorney; booking return appointments; and talking to potential customers to see what their experience was like or if they need something
• Greet prospective clients and office clients at the front desk in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner
• Check mailbox daily and process incoming mail per office procedure
• Prepare documents for mailing
• Document phone calls from clients and prospective clients in the telephone log and in MyCase
• Draft letters to clients in English and Spanish
• Translate client documents

• Collect required documents from clients in preparation for their consultation

• Create new files (hard files and electronic on computer)
• Prepare old files to be closed (scan to computer and shred files)
